1996 auf Goa packte IMIX das „Psyfieber“. Schon bald begann er als Dj Anza Psytrance aufzulegen und konnte umfassende Dj-Erfahrung sammeln, was ihn letztendlich 2002 dazu veranlasste, seine eigene Musik als Imix zu produzieren. Imix (=KIN 161 "harmonic red dragon”) ist das Maya-Kalenderzeichen von Franz und bedeutet “Impuls”.
Typisch für Imix' stylischen full-on Psytrance sind eine harte Bass Drum und massive Bässe. Er mag funky Themen, psychedelisch-kernige Synthesizersounds und harmonische Melodien. Seine Musik ist beeinflusst von der spannungsgeladenen Energie des psychedelischen Funk der legendären 70er Jahre, wie George Clinton, Bootsie Collins, The JB´s, Herbie Hancock, Sly und Family Stone.
